Stolen motorcycle suspect dies in Ellis County crash

WFAA.com reports that Michael Edward Fincher, 51, died late Saturday morning after a brief chase with law enforcement. Speeds reached up to 120 mph

 on northbound I-45 when Fincher lost control of the bike and collided with the back end of an 18 wheeler. 

 

The pursuit ended about three minutes later when the motorcycle driver lost control and slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler near the Palmer exit at FM 813.

 

Ellis Co. deputies ran the license plates on the motorcycle to discover it was stolen.Fincher was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler, 31-year-old Edwin Mojica, was uninjured.Northbound traffic on I-45 between Ennis and Ferris was closed for several hours during the accident investigation.
